I am thinking of going to Dahab on Boxing Day.
I am a 37 year old female and will be travelling alone!
A friend of a friend have just advised me that a couple they know have just come back from Dahab cutting short a two week holiday to four days as they did not feel safe!!
Is there any trouble in Egypt at the moment?
Please advise.
Many thanks!!
Does anyone out there know of any functioning hammams(Turkish baths)in Cairo?Addresses, opening hours for men and cost would be nuch appreciated.
I understand that going inside the largest of the pyramids, Cheops, is not open to the public. I have also been told that 50 tickets are released each morning at 3am to go inside Cheops. Has anyone heard of this and if so how do you obtain these tickets.
I am also interested in a day trip from Cairo to Alexandria. Does anyone have any info on tour companies that offer this tour.
Many thanks Ann
Hi All,
Myself and a mate of mine will be in Ciaro for 5 days seeing the sites and checking out where is a good place to go on new years eve.
We will be in Luxor for a few days after that.
Anyone in the area at that time let me know!
Cheers
I am trying to help out a friend and colleague who is working on a project involving some archeological sites in Cairo. He will likely be in Cairo between 2-5 weeks sometime next Spring/Summer. He has not been to Cairo, and will be spending much of his time in Giza. While I have been to Cairo several times, the last time was almost fifteen years ago, and I am simply not up-to-date on Cairo culture. As with me, he is not interested in staying in the Americanized 4-or-5-star hotels…
Hello all. I need an answer quick as I need to either book a flight or bus return from Cairo to Tel Aviv in December.
Anyway we will fly Tel Aviv to Cairo but are trying to decide whether we should fly back again or take the express bus from Cairo to Tel Aviv with Cazada tours?
The bus goes during the day, and while I don't fancy a 12 hour bus ride, it might be very interesting to drive that route during the day. Is it worth it?
Thanks!

PS: I am also posting this on the Israel thread
As LP (my usual trusty guide) is a not due out until after I return from Egypt and also sees misguided in accomodation recommendation I was wondering what guides you prefer. Budget solo, female traveller.
Thanks
Have actually been into flight centre this morning (after much internet research) and am now tossing up between flying Royal Jordanian via Bangkok and Amman and Qatar via Bangkok and Doho.
RJ is $1900AUD inclusive of taxes
Q is $1800AUD inclusive of taxes
Both with allow me a 2 week stopover in BKK. I don't think I'd bother with a stop in Doho but Amman may be interesting.
Want to book by Monday. Does anyone have any knowledge of what these airlines are like and also is it advisable to travel…
just wondering if anyone toured The Cityof The Dead? do you need a tour guide? is it easy on your own?
Hello, I'm heading to the Pyramids of Giza and my group (of five) wants to take a camel ride to/around the pyramids. Anyone have any idea how much we should pay?
Thanks in advance.
