Here's my problem
I am an Indian official passport holder holding teporary resident permit for Sudan, as working in the United nations mission in Sudan. Interested in visiting egypt i applied for a tourist visa and obtained one from Egyptian consulate in Khartoum. They gave me one from the 16th Jun to 16th July(one month standard protocol). Now my plans got delayed. I am reaching Egypt on the 14th Jul, for about 12 days. The Khartoum consulate refuses to extend my visa until it reaches expiry, that is last week. The last week I shall be in transit(in Uganda and Kenya) on my way to egypt. Here are my questions(complicated eh?)
1. What shall I do. Broadly I need visa extension for another 20 odd days after the expiry on the 16th Jul.
2. Can visa be extended as i reach Cairo on the 14th night.(with 2 days remaining).
3. Can a visa issued in Khartoum be extended from the consulates in Uganda/Kenya.
4. Do u really need to enter Egypt for applying for extension. What is the minimum grace period for visa renewal. Is it before or after the visa expires. Can u live in Egypt beyond the expiry of visa. For how many days.
5. Will they let me enter on a visa with only 1-2 dyas remaining.
5. In case a visa expires in the course of stay in egypt, what happens. Pay a fine or get jailed or something.
Simply put. I have a one month visa expiring on the 16th of Jul. I enter Egypt on the 14th night. How best can I continue to stay on till the 25th as i have planned?

As far as I know you will have no problem as long as you enter Egypt by the 16th July - this expiry date is not the last date by which you much leave Egypt but the last date by which you must enter Egypt. Upon entry on a pre-arranged visa one normally is permitted to stay up to 3 months and that too can be renewed.
