Hi,

I'm going to the middle east next month and I have a flight from Amman to Cairo end of september. When I booked this flight, I read that for Germans no visa are needed for Egypt in advance, but it is possible to buy visa on arrival for something like 25 $ at the airport. However, I now found a German web page that was written in March, announcing that from mid May on, this probably won't be possible any more. Does anybody know whether this is really true?

Thank you in advance,

Why don't you check on Timatic ?
It's possible to find the info on staralliance.com (check on Visa and Health)
It's free (the information), accurate and up to date.
Timatic is provided by IATA. It's official.

Hi,

thank you, I did not know of the existence of Timatic (when searching I only found articles stating that "probably" Egypt is going to abolish visa on arrival).
This solved my problem:
> Visa Issuance
> Holders of normal passports issued to nationals of Germany can obtain a visa on arrival for a max. stay of 30 days.
> Fee: single entry: USD 25.-; multiple entry USD 35.-.

Thank you,
