Suez Canal trip

Does anybody know the current situation on the ground in Suez - can you get close enough to the canal currently to watch ships passing through - I know there is a curfuw in effect, but have also been told the Military might be 'locking down' the port area so I wouldn't be able to actually get near the canal anyway?

I've heard it's unsafe at the moment
