Hello. I would like to tell about my experience in Luxor during my travel to Luxor in June 2013. I would like to say that when I was there everthing was fine and I did not see many tourist is for that that tourist foreigners thingking about going to Egypt is highly recommendable from my own experience during these days. I can not apreciate anything strange or bad thing. I was in Luxor 4 days and I enjoyed myself although is was lack of tourists and I had to bargain about the prices in some places like kaleshdrivers, taxis.
I visited the Souq in Luxor and It was a lovely experience where you can talk to the sales shoppers in the shops. Specially I met one very friendly and very truthful person that help me ir order to feel safe and without the feeling of lonely
. This man has a small shop in souq where he can offer you scarf, t-shirts,etc... He is a nice and good Egyptian. I can say that because I have been 4 times in Egypt and you can trust on him. He does not hassle to you to buy anything and he gives good advises.
As I was there as a traveller alone he talked to me long time and when the light went off, sometimes happes in Luxor actually, he offered me to go with me until the exit of the souq with a Light showing me the right way. From my mind and my heart, I would like to help him. IF YOU need buy something of Egypt you SHOULD VISIT and buy from him and his shop you will not be dissapointed because he is friendly and you can stay quietly without any HASSLE. I am sure of that. WE, the tourists, NEED TO HELP THE GOOD EGYPTIAN PEOPLE like this friendly and honest man. His name is Ramadan Ali, and he has a shop in the Souq almost in the corner of Alexandra Street, next to a shop where you can buy things for home.
