I love and admire the ancient Egyptian culture. That's why I visited Egypt. I went to see the ancient ruins which are spectacular. I didn't go to bask in the comtemporary culture with its love of violence, religious intolorance (Do you know what the Egyptian chant, 'First Saturday, Then Sunday' means?), harrassing tourists and sleezy business practices. I travel lots of places, Cat W. Sometimes I respect the local culture and sometimes not. That's life.

You, however, have no respect for reality. You encourage people to holiday in what is basically a war zone and think that you are helpful by giving them fashion advice. It's like telling people to go to a hurricane zone, when their state departments are telling them to avoid the area, and that they will be safe as long as they wear a raincoat.

It's just a matter of time before there is once more major violence directed at western tourists. I hope that no one who you gave fashion advice to is one of the victims.

Thank you for your good wishes, Molsons.

Though 'prosperous' is not how I, in company of many other, see Ramadan.

Ramadan is very much a time for reflection on the fact that many people don't have enough to eat, and no easy access to safe water. The fasting is in solidarity with those people, and a chance for those of us who are more fortunate to help others.
This is the spirit of Islam, practiced by more than 90% of muslims. The less than 10% who are badly educated in their religion - 'those who go astray' according the the Koran - are not typical of the religion as a whole, loud though their voices be.

Moslons, if you don't like Egypt and Egyptians, and all you can do is post disrespectful comments (to say the least), why do you even bother to come to this thread??

As for you rationale "I hate today's Egypt and the Egyptians but I love Pharaonic Egypt", it was one of the pillars of colonialism last century.
