MAGY HOTEL

Never heard of it but I stayed in Al Bostan hotel in Central Cairo - it was fine. There is loads to choose from - hostelworld has a good list of budget hotels on their website.

I spent 3 days in this hotel, in October 2010. I booked a double room with shared bathroom but I got one with private bathroom, no extra charge. It is very close to Ramses metro and train station, which makes it quite noisy but convenient. The staff is nice, the rooms are small but clean enough. The complimentary airport pickup service was very helpful, as we arrived at 1:30 am and a taxi would have cost us around 80 EP, which is the equivalent of one night's accommodation. Overall good value for money, but keep in mind that rooms are tiny and don't have windows (maybe some have, ours didn't). And breakfast starts at 10 o'clock, which is way too late. Staff speaks english.
