Some friends and I are planning a trip to Egypt this coming summer (June/July 2013), and we're big divers, so we want to do the Cairo-Aswan-Luxor tourist thing, and then out to the Sinai. I've noticed, however, that these legendary "11 flights a day from Luxor to Sharm El Sheikh" I see around the internet... do not seem to materialize. I've checked the EgyptAir site, and they aren't there either.

Can anyone give me an idea as to current best-transits from Luxor (and/or Hurghadah) to Sharm El Sheikh, or where to find those legendary direct Hurgadah or Luxor direct flights? It looks like the ferries are a no-go right now, and the flights I can find are up at USD$200+ one way - which is rather a bit more than we'd like to pay (we don't make USD).

Thanks!

When I fly domestically within Egypt I always use EgyptAir. They are reliable and with advance purchase can be pretty inexpensive.

Good luck.

Is Egypt Air's site the most accurate set of numbers, or is there a better site to look at? Kayak seems to be half(!?) the EA site (when I was checking last night).

Hi,
I have just booked a Luxor to Sharm flight through Egypt Air site. I was booking 5 months in advance and the direct flight was fully booked for the date I wanted (I believe there is only 1 direct flight per day). I have now booked a flight through Cairo with a short transit, The good news is that I found boking through the Egypt Air site to be very straight forward. Had previously tried to book flights with Edreams which was ridiculously bad and would avoid Edreams.
Goodluck

I always use the EgyptAir site and enter through the Egypt portal (rather than the international one).

I've never had a problem.
