If you had only one or two nights in Cairo ?

The best is river side
you have plenty of restaurants and boats along the river
such as Al Bash and Nile city
if you think of moving boats you can get Nile Pharoes boat
wish you good luck

If not on a budget, the revolving restaurant at the top of the Grand Hyatt offers stunning views.

The floating restaurants along the Zamalek corniche include Africa's third best.

Cafe Riche, on Talaat Harb, is interesting for watching the local well-to-do Copts meeting their friends. Just around the next corner is an unmarked door leading to the Stella Bar, a fascinating spot for interacting with locals.

If you change your mind and fancy a throbbing dance venue, Club Africana, in Giza, is THE BEST in Cairo, rocking till after dawn - get there by 2100 if you want a seat.

With only one night I'd stay in downtown. Koshary for dinner at Abu Tarek. Dessert at Groppis Cafe. Then either coffee and a Shisha at Al Bostan Cafe, or a beer at Stella bar or Al Horreya Cafe.
