Our trip to Jordan will begin from the north and end in the south: we'll head to Amman first, then Dead Sea, and lastly Petra.
The question is, how do we get to the Sinai Peninsula for some Red Sea diving from Petra? And from Sinai, how do we get to Cairo without having to travel back to Amman to fly?? Is there a train or bus system? What would you recommend? I looked through a couple of travel guides, but it doesn't mention anything about traveling from Jordan to Sinai or Egypt.
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Any good guide book should cover the ferry from Aqaba (Jordan) to Nuweiba (sp?) in Egypt and onward travel from there (no train so buses or taxis). There have also been plenty of posts on this forum about this. It is also possible to go diving in Aqaba at places like the Royal Diving Club. We only went snorkling but were really impressed by the coral there.

You ll find quite a lot of information on Nuweiba here...

including how to enter the area, bus times and visa information.
