I asked a question about traveling from Egypt to Israel before, but my travel plans have changed and I thus have a bit of a different situation now. Thanks for your help!
So, on October 7th, I need to get back home to Jerusalem. However, one-way flights from Cairo to Tel Aviv are about $600 with 6 hour waitovers, so I said heck no to that option.
So, so far, I have booked a cheap(ish) flight from Cairo to Sharm el-Sheik. I will be getting there very early in the morning of October 7th. Then, later that day - in the late evening around 8 PM or so - I have a flight from Eilat, Israel to Tel Aviv, Israel. Then, I will see about taking public transit from Tel Aviv back to Jerusalem, if it is still running at that late hour.
However, that is not what my question concerns. My questions is: how can I get from Sharm el-Sheik to Egypt's border crossing with Israel? It is my understanding that there are buses from Sharm el-Sheik to Taba, but how much would such cost, can I book it in advance, and where would I get on this bus at? Also, how would I go from the drop-off point in Taba to the Eilat airport? Would it have to be through taxi? If so, how much would that cost?
Again, thanks so much for your help! I never thought going from Egypt to Israel would be so complex (I previously assumed I would be able to book a cheap one way flight from Cairo to Tel Aviv for about $150, given how much I have paid for other Middle Eastern flights).
