Hi, I have been to Egypt 10 times and have travelled with many females. If you are planning on walking around the street I would suggest wearing trousers and t-shirts. Nothing, which shows of too, much skin or you might find you get a bit of attention from the men. I’m not saying this is the rule but if you want to have a hassle free time then it’s worth doing. It will be cool in Cairo when you get there but if you head down south it will be much warmer.
Enjoy one of the most amazing countries on earth :)

i went to egypt this summer and i didn't have a problem with what i had on just don't wear stuff like mini skirts or something low cut and you should be fine

I'm headed there in May.
From what I understand, shorts are alright in the touristy areas. Otherwise, I've heard that capris are fine.
Make sure your shoulders are covered and no plunging necklines, so T-shirts are ok but no tank tops.

The advice above is correct, but bring something smart if you wanna go clubbing or something in Cairo or Sharm.

No problem as long as you dress decently : no cleavage, no bare shoulders, no leg showing (always wear trousers or skirts which go at least below the knee).
And shorts are NOT alright in Egypt, except if you want local men and women to treat you like a whore. Indeed you will see lots of naked women in the touristic areas, but this is certainly no reason to be as dumb as they are.
If you plan to go to trendy restaurants in Cairo, you can wear whatever you want as long as you don't walk on the street (take a taxi).
As for Sharm... it is not really Egypt but more a kind of carefully enclosed Disneyland resort.
