Giza Station - Sleeper Train

Hi,
I am catching the sleeper train to Aswan from Giza and hoping to get some information from those that have done this. I have my Eticket and I am staying near Ramses station, but do not want to catch the train to Giza as I will have luggage. . How long does it take a taxi to get to Giza station for the 8p.m. train on a Thursday night ? How much earlier should I get there to comfortably get through the check in process? Is it easy to find where I check in and the platform to get on the train ? Any other tips ?

Could take an hour and a half or more if you're unlucky with traffic. The Metro goes directly between the two stations and is much quicker, if you don't have too much luggage.

Damn lost my post! Basically said that you should get there early to allow you to figure out platforms etc. traffic s a bitch at that time so allow plenty.
