Greetings Travelers,
I am spending about 7-10 days in Tel Aviv and traveling around Israel. I will then (civil unrest permitting) travel overland to scuba dive in Dahab and explore around. From my research, I can enter the sinai area on a limited 15 day visa granted at the overland Egyptian border, but I would like to spend more than 15 days and don't want to be so limited in where I go--I am interested in diving/exploring the red sea coast (Marsa Alam, etc.).

Questions:
Is it even possible to get an unrestricted 30 day visa if you are not flying into Egypt?

Has anyone applied for an Egyptian visa at the embassy in Tel Aviv? How long would that take to receive?

Can egyptian travel agents in Tel Aviv work some baksheesh magic in getting a 30day visa--any recommendations?

I see some online visa services, but I am leaving in two weeks and they look kind of dodgy/weaselly--does someone have a recommendation on a service they used?

Any thoughts on this issue would be much appreciated.

I am cross-posting this on the Israel forum as well

Thanks in advance

Russell

If you want to stay 30 days you need a visa. Visas cannot be arranged at the Taba-Eilat border. You'll need to go to the Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv or to the Egyptian consulate in Ramallah and get a visa, they often deliver it on the same day.

No need to bribe anyone unless you fancy visiting an Egyptian jail, and bearing the shame of having Egyptian authorities send a note with a copy of your passport to your embassy.
