Is there anyone in the Egypt right now??? I am going with my husband tomorrow to Cairo and we are worried about all the conflicts going on... We can change our plans and go straight to Israel and Middle East first but it will be more expensive for us because of changing dates... What do you recommend us???

I'm travelling there in the next few days and I have just changed to a different hotel away from the downtown area.

Good luck.

I would recommend you do not cancel your plans for Cairo. I was there last year and stayed downtown at the Victoria Hotel.
Cairo is a big city and the disturbances were rather localised to a small area around tahrir square and some of the ministries.
Watching the TV news makes you believe the whole city is exploding - which is what the viewers want - or its not news right?

this was the wrong decision to cancel plans to stay downtown. Everything is more or less fine there, the entire downtown area is not exploding.

I spent 15 wonderfull days in Egypt after my question here and things there are very safe once you avoid the Tahir Square... We stayed in a hotel in Giza, far from Tahir and did all things we planned to do in a cheaper and easier way! The prices are very low for everything because of the revolution and the run away of all the travellers and the turistics atractions are empty..., just for US!!!
We recomend everyone who is planning to go...GO!!! And keep looking for day by day informations about the revolution...
