I have started planning a trip to Egypt and have kind of asked in other threads but am wondering if, since, I am on a tight time schedule, what is the quickest and easiest way to get from the Nile and possible the Sinia to Petra in Jordan? I have the Egypt guides but Petra is not mentioned in them-as it is in Jordan. Thanks for any replies.

Once in Sinai, the quickest way over to Aqaba and then Petra is actually through Eilat in Israel as you are not limited to waiting for ferries ( as in Nuweiba ). This can be easily combined by doing a tour from Cairo to St Catherine down to Nuweiba and then up to Taba, using public bus or private cars with driver.
