Yes, but most of Cairo is still calm and did not experience any violence. Just a handful of politically-sensitive areas which can be avoided.

First of all it is nonsense to keep posting when invocator (who asked for advice in the first place) completed his egyptian voyage and now is out of the country.
Second is more nonsense to write about tourism in cairo, a city with curfew, closed museum (and pyramids in some days) hundreds of funerals around the town and travel warnings from scores of countries (even from the russian goverment).

back safe from the rest of my trip, although still interested in every news about egypt. And if i experience some dificulties in my travel with trains, some protests and so on, i cant imagine how someone can say that Cairo its safe nowadays after the casualties in the last week....
