Not cheap, but definitely worth every penny. I did a 5-day Esna-Aswan trip
2 years ago and still consider it was the best holiday-investment I ever made.
Sailing on a beautyfull 50m Dahabyja is very relaxing. Combined with
the cultural highlights and the wonderfull people on & off ship this is
beyond comparison to the usual motor ship cruise most people book.
Overnight is on silent banks and local shores where the big boats
can't go - so its like having old Nil all to yourself.
BTW: Sailing is always north to south, because the wind always blows
up-Nile (do the opposite direction is floating or motoring without sails).
