Hi
I am going to be in Egypt at the end of August/beginning of September this year. I gather there won't be many tourists around due to the heat and people being scared of due to terrorism. Does anyone know if cheap day tours still run when there are so few people? I am particularly thinking of ones going from Aswan to Luxor that stop at Edfu on the way, tours to Abu Simbel from Aswan (the ones that cost around E£70) and tours to the Red Sea monasteries of St Anthony and St Paul (from Cairo or Hurghada). I know there is a bus to Abu Simbel but it doesn't seem to leave much time if I return the same day, and I don't have enough time to stay overnight. Also if anyone does know of another way to get to St Anthony's (not taxi), that would be appreciated. Rough guide mentions the possibility of Coptic tour groups, but this seems a bit vague.
Thanks
Nat
