Hi,

Later this month I will be in Cairo for 6 days. After Cairo I am thinking of flying to Abu Simbel. From Abu Simbel, I was thinking of taking the bus to Aswan and on to Luxor.

Anyone recently staying in a hotel in Abu Simbel that you can recommend?

Has anyone recently taken the bus from Abu Simbel to Aswan?

Has anyone recently taken the Go Bus (https://www.gobus-eg.com/index.php?) bus from Luxor to Hurghada?

Thanks!

Kurtiss

Instead of busing it, why not consider a nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor? They are cheap nowadays with all the milddle east turmoil and the ships stop at all the main temples and sights.

Thanks! Booked my flight from Cairo to Abu Simbel. Think I will take the bus from Abu Simbel to Aswan and then either a boat or bus from Aswan to Luxor, depending on how much time I have.

Hi klgla,

I would advice you to check the bus availability in advance. Convoy arrives at Abu Simbel for few hours and then they leave together.
If you have a chance, stay in Abu Simbel for 1 night. The temple looks incredible during the Sunset-Sunrise hours and night laser show truly was one of the highlights of my Egyptian trip.

Thanks Tatia! I fly into Abu Simbel early next Wednesday morning and staying overnight at the Eskaleh Lodge (in the Lonely Planet Guidebook). The Guidebook mentions the buses from Abu Simbel to Awsan but states that there are no advanced reservation - you buy your ticket on the bus. The Eskaleh Lodge also said that there were buses available.
