Hi all,
me and my family and some friends of ours (6-8 people) are planning to go to Botswana next summer (august 2011).
We would like to spend 3-4 days at the Moremi Game Reserve, but are terrified by the awful prices we found. May anyone suggest us if there is any budget accomodation (i.e. less than 300$ pppn) at the Moremi Game Reserve?
Thanks so much, ciao
Marina

Accommodation is quite pricey in Moremi Game Reserve........Really hard to find in your budget.
For that price you won't find a lodge.
However, you should be able to get a pretty high end mobile camping trip, one where all the tents have en suite "bush bathrooms" with bucket showers and short drop toilets. The camp is all set up for you, meals are prepared and served outdoors on nicely laid out tables with proper crockery and all drinks are included. The mobile operators use specially allocated camping areas so only one group will be camping at any one site, so it's a real wilderness experience. I did a longer one a couple of years ago with Letaka safaris. For the size of your group you could probably get any mobile operator to do a tailor made tour just for your group, as usually the group sizes are only about 8-12 people.
It's probably easiest to get a travel agent to sort something out- I've used Travel Wild (based in Maun) before (http://www.travelwildbotswana.com/safari-mobile.htm) and found them reliable. I'm sure they have contacts with a number of different companies and can sort out something for your budget.
