Hi guys n gals !
Have a standing invitation to visit Lodwar and since im a serious birder the badlands of the Omorate n norther Kenya is tempting. I know there is traffic from Kenya to the Omorate (pickups) so there must be traffic returning too. An israeli i met in Nairobi walked (illegaly) overland towards Lodwar but i do not have his military training. There is a border crossing around Todenyang. Repeated mails to Kenyan immigrations unsurprisingly doesnt yield anything.

I'm going to be in Ethiopia from 9th - 17th May off back of work trip. Want to go hiking in Simiens most likely 11-16th, planning to walk for approx 4 days. Have bought a book, but looks like Guide will be necessary. Does anyone want to come with me and split the costs? Woman, late 30s, not too annoying. Have travelled and walked quite a lot before so relatively fit and un-whiney. Will prob have to go from Gondar, that's what everyone seems to say.
I posted this question abouth a month ago and no replyes at all.
So I give it another try: any info about taking Amharic class/ course in Addis.
I would appreciate info about any level of instruction available!
A new three star hotel located at Bole was inaugurated on March 10, 2015.
The Southern Addis Hotel
Currently travelling solo in Northern Ethiopia. Will be back in Addis in a few days, then will have a week left to see some other parts of the country- maybe Harar, or some of the Southern lakes...I'm open to suggestions! If anyone's looking for a travel companion to share costs (and hassle!) please message me.
