I plan on moving to South America and I really want to volunteer. It's the best way to really get to know a new culture than by engaging in the local community through community service.
Basically, I've applied to volunteer with E.F. (Education First), but their programs are very expensive. You have to count at least 5000 £ for 8 weeks! It's too expensive for me!
So, if anyone would like to share any advice to cheaper projects abroad it would be greatly appreciated!

A warning has been published regarding the use of synthetic-fibre clothing in the Manu rainforest near Cusco in Peru. Authorities advise travellers to wear only clothes made from natural materials like cotton and leather. Synthetic clothes and other plastic materials are being attacked by a plastic-eating fungus, and they will be confiscated and burned when leaving the park, to prevent the fungus from spreading into cities.
As the name says is it possible or better where exactly would be the cheapest place in Colombia to look for if your budget is 500/month. I'm 20 yo and have no problems staying in a really bad apartament-no TV, no hot water-but I do need internet. I also won't be visiting stuff or drinking or anything so I think 500/month is doable I'm just curious in which part is the cheapest rent. Can I find it in Medellin or outside of it? I speak decent spanish.
