You'll meet your guide at 09.30h close to the Erasmus Bridge for your best view of the Skyline of Rotterdam (Kop van Zuid). Then you'll take a free boat-trip to Katendrecht. That's the area most Rotterdammers would advise you to visit right now. After walking through the old steamship 'Rotterdam' you'll walk in a small group (max 10 pers) around Katendrecht; once it was our red-light district, chinatown, no-go-area, and nowadays it's the nicest place to be. During your walk you'll hear great fun stories, collected by Kapenezen (the ones who've lived 'forever' at Katendrecht) and you'll see the Kop van Zuid from a different perspective. You'll end your tour at the Fenix Food Factory, where you can have a drink, if you wish. (Please be informed this tour ends at a different spot then where you started)
Your meeting point, next to the Erasmusbridge, is a nice place to see the skyline of Rotterdam. And a great place to meet your guide and the ones who will walk with you. (Groups are max 10 pers). Then you'll take a free boat trip (tickets included in the price) to Katendrecht. During this trip you can make the most beautiful pictures of the Erasmusbridge and the beautiful architecture / high buildings at Rotterdam Zuid. The boat trip takes about 8 minutes, and then you'll walk inside the beautiful old cruise ship 'Rotterdam'; largest Holland-America-Line cruise ship ever built in The Netherlands, on which many people visited New York and other cities from 1959 untill 2000. Now it's a hotel. You won't stay to long there, as there's a whole area to explore: Katendrecht, with the best views of Kop van Zuid as well. While doing tours in the last 25 years, we heard a lot of stories from the Kapenezen (born & raised & still living at Katendrecht). And you'll hear their stories too about what happened there during WorldWarII, former the red-light-district, former China-town.. And you'll end your tour around 11.30/11.45h at Deliplein, next to the (famous in Rotterdam) Fenix Food Factory, where you can have a drink, if you wish. Please be informed that you end somewhere else then where you started.
