Piet de Leeuw

in Southern Canal Ring

With its dark-wood furniture and wood-panelled walls hung with pictures, this feels like an old-school pub. The building dates from 1900, but it's been a steakhouse and a hang-out since the 1940s. Sit down at individual or communal tables and tuck into good-value steaks topped with a choice of sauces and served with salad and piping-hot frites (French fries).
