Now a 'one- to five-star' hotel, the Lloyd was a hotel for migrants back in 1921, and many of the original fixtures remain, alongside contemporary Dutch design. Budget (bathroom down the hall) to top-end (racquetball-court-sized) rooms are so one-of-a-kind (bathtub in the centre, fold-away bathrooms, a giant bed for eight…) they'll even impress travellers who think they've seen it all.
