Architect Pierre Cuyper built this, his favourite, church between 1870 and 1880. However, it was hampered by lack of funds during construction and damaged by fire in 1904. Slated for demolition in 1978, it was saved by a group of architecture enthusiasts. It's a sharply steepled church building featuring a fascinating series of shapes with an octagon at its base. The interior (a popular wedding venue) is used as offices, and not accessible to the public.
