True to its name, Banthai does indeed resemble a country village transported to the modern city. The hotel sprawls over a series of wooden buildings with broad balconies, surrounding an idyllic pool and gardens overflowing with birds-of-paradise flowers. Rooms do the heritage thing, but subtly, with low wooden beds, dark-wood furniture and scattered cushions and traditional triangular Thai pillows.
This luxurious hotel is just 10 minutes’ drive from Chiang Mai International Airport. Banthai Village provides elegant rooms and a refreshing outdoor pool, surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas. The stylish rooms at Village Banthai are decorated with a mixture of modern and traditional Thai furnishings. All rooms have a private balcony, a DVD player and seating area. Some overlook the tropical garden and swimming pool. The Pool Bar and Bistro provides exotic cocktails and meals. Room service is also available. The Banthai’s central location in the heart of old Chiang Mai has shops, restaurants and entertainment spots just moments away. Warorat Market and the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar are less than 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel, and the Chiang Mai Railway Station is a short 15-minute drive away.
