Hi, I'm Polly, a solo female traveller from the UK. I'm looking for people to hire a driver to do the Pamir Highway with. I'd like to take about 10 days, starting on 17 July in Dushanbe. Let me know if you're interested,
I am considering the following itinerary and would welcome any comments on whether I have sufficient time to include a few days in the Fann region at the end. I could possibly extend the trip by a couple of days more than listed below. I'm a slow altitude acclimatiser so need to allow time going this direction.
31 August - Arrive Biskek airport early morning then take a flight later that day to Osh.
Organise transport and go from Osh to Khorog via the Wakhan route (1 week?)
From Khorog onto…
I am currently staying at the Osh Guesthouse.
If anyone is interested there is a car leaving for sure, no matter what, on June 17th for the Pamir Highway. We have 3 people and want a fourth.
5 days from Osh to Khorog :
- Murghab/Alichur / Bulunkul / Yashilkul / Langar
- Langar / Yamchun / BibiFatima / Ishkashim
- Ishkashim / GarmChasma / Khorog
The price per person would be 186$.
Please contact Osh Guest House's whatsapp…
Looking for some advice. I'm looking at all three of these hostels. I will have two nights in Dushanbe after a trip along Pamir highway. I will be leaving from the airport, but it seems all are pretty close and all are not so close to the centre.
Any opinions on these three?
by a stupid mistake of mine I entered a wrong entry date on the visa application form. In fact I will arrive in Dushanbe 1 day earlier than I stated.
Will they accept that at the border control or is it advisable to apply for a new visa and pay the fee twice?
Has anyone any experience on that?
I really can't decide how to visit the Pamir highway.
I will be travelling solo in September coming from Uzbekistan, so doing the Dushanbe, Khorog, Osh route, and will have around 7-9 days with my current plan.
Can't make my mind up on whether to go it alone or join an organised tour for 11 days.
I think my main question is, does the money I save going solo balance with the time I save going organised?
We are doing the Wakhan Valley in June and had planned to get an Afghanistan visa in Khorog to spend one day in Ishkashim, Afghanistan. Our agency informed us that because of Taliban spring offensive near Ishkashim that the Afghan consul is not issuing Afghan visas because of security but the Afghan army had regained the territory the Taliban took over . Is the Khorog Afghan consul still not issuing tourist visas for the Ishkashim border crossing? Would appreciate any info.
My friends and I will be self-driving the Pamir Highway between 10 - 19/20 June, this year. I would appreciate any advice on the itinerary and places where we should stop. The plan is as below:
10.06 - leave Khujand in the morning - reach Obigarm by the end of the day.
11.06 - Obigarm - Rushan
12.06 - 14.06 - we'll be trekking in Jizew valley with a guide. In the evening of 14th we should be in Khorog and ready to start driving again in the morning of 15th.
15.06 - 16.06 - Reach Bulunkul…
