Several families offer simple accommodation in very well-signed homestays, all walking distance from the lakeshore. There is no accommodation at either the Tajik or Kyrgyz border posts, and due to the sensitivities of the area, this is not an advisable place to camp.

Homestays here all offer meals but otherwise there is nowhere else to eat. Most travellers driving across the border from Murgab to Osh stop at a very popular cafe in Sary Tash in Kyrgyzstan, marking the half-way point of this marathon 411km journey.
