Taipei is slowly modernising facilities and many lifts and public toilets have wheelchair access. However, while seats and parking for people with disabilities are respected, Taipei is still not a very accessible environment. Street footpaths are uneven, kerbs are steep, and public transport, other than the MRT and high-speed rail (HSR), is not equipped with wheelchair access.

The Erziping trail on Yangmingshan is a wheelchair-accessible hike, although you'd need your own transport to get here.
