Eastern Taiwan & Taroko National Park in detail

Summers in the east are drier than in the north, which makes the area more suitable for outdoor activities, but June to October is steamy hot and typhoon season means that the coast can be frequently battered by severe storms. April and May are wet and warm, often overcast with winds that can interfere with hopper flights to Lanyu. Winters, while cold and damp in the mountains, can be fine and clear, and waters at Green Island are still likely to be warm enough for diving in wetsuits.
