Start the day visiting an outstanding monument such as The Certosa of Pavia, nowadays still operating as a monastery. The Certosa, founded in the countryside between Milan and Pavia by the lord of Milan Gian Galeazzo Visconti at the end of the 14.th century, originally was designed to become the funeral chapel of the family.It is composed by a church, full of different jewels of art, and two marvelous cloisters, where the monks used to pass their whole life, praying and working the fields near their cells.At the end of this surprising visit we'll move to a "trattoria" set in the countryside around Pavia enjoying tasteful dishes of local tradition.
In the afternoon we'll visit Vigevano, a beautiful small town near the Ticino river, where the lord of Milan Ludovico il Moro at the end of the 15.th century involved two outstanding artists, Leonardo da Vinci and Bramante in the building and the decoration of a part of the castle and the incredible central square, considered one of the most beautiful square in Italy.
