Together you will make your way into the city center and start with a visit of the "Tinguely Fountain", a unique fountain designet by the Swiss artist Jean Tinguely. Just footsteps away, you will visit the "Elisabethenkirche", one of the churches out of th 19th century in a Swiss revival gothic style. The church is one of the first "Swiss open churches" for spiritual, cultural and social needs. By a short transfer by the typical Basel tram (light rail) you will arrive at the Gate of Spalen, a former city gate and one of the three remaining gateways. Your tourguide will lead you further towards the university of Basel, Switzerland's oldest university founded in 1460. You will get the information about the university library and the faculties, before you will continue towards the old town. You will see hidden squares and narrow alleyways before you arrive at the eye-catching sight at the market square and the city hall.
