Getting There & Away

Ystad is 60km southeast of Malmö on the E65 motorway, and 45km southwest of Simrishamn via Rte 9.

Ystad is a popular ferry port. Unity Line and Polferries operate daily crossings between Ystad and Swinoujscie (Poland). Fares start at around 353kr and the journey takes approximately 6½ hours.

Faergen runs frequent ferries and catamarans between Ystad and Rønne, on the Danish island of Bornholm. Fares start at 200kr and it takes under 90 minutes to get across.

Skånetrafiken bus 190 runs from Ystad to Trelleborg (87kr, one hour) via Smygehuk. Bus 570 to Simrishamn (69kr, 40 minutes) via Löderup runs hourly in the summer. Buses depart from outside Ystad train station.

SJ Rail and Skånetrafiken operate regular trains between Ystad and Malmö (99kr, 50 minutes), Lund (111kr, 1¼ hours) and Simrishamn (69kr, 40 minutes).

Getting Around

Roslins Cykel located about 3km northeast of the city centre rents bikes (per day/week from 100/450kr).
