Sundbergs Konditori

Cafe in Gamla Stan

Image by Adam Grimshaw Lonely Planet

Dating from 1785, this is Stockholm’s oldest bakery-cafe, complete with chintzy chandeliers, a subdued parlour atmosphere and a copper samovar full of self-serve coffee. Mix and match with gleaming pastries and a soothing selection of bagels, ciabattas and quiches. Outdoor seating is primo for people watching in summer.
