Hotell Västanå Slott

Top choice historic hotel in Gränna

Originally built as a palace in 1590, then owned by Count Per Brahe in the 17th century, Västanå Slott, located 6km south of Gränna, became Sweden's first Manor House hotel in 1948. It remains decorated according to its 18th-century past, with chandeliers, brooding oil paintings and suits of armour, and decadent guest rooms perfect for staying in: some have deep copper tubs.

Although the property is rather close to the motorway, you wouldn't know it most of the time. The surrounding woods are ideal for hikers and there's an adjacent golf course.
