Hiking in Leeward Highway

About 5 miles north of Kingstown along the Leeward Hwy, a sign points east to the Vermont Nature Trails, 3.5 miles inland, where you’ll find the Parrot Lookout Trail. The 1.75-mile loop (two hours) passes through the southwestern tip of the St Vincent Parrot Reserve, a thick rainforest where, if you're lucky, you might spot the namesake bird in its natural habitat.

Other species present in the forest include the whistling warber and crested hummingbird. While the hike is not long, with the heat and humidity it can be tough going, but it's well worth it.
