Day 8: Dambulla Cave Temple/Kandy Stop At: Dambulla Cave Temple, Habarana, North Central Province After breakfast proceed to Dambulla Rock Temple. On arrival embark on a tour of the Cave Temple. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. The rock towers 160m over the surrounding plains and houses 5 cave temples with some of the most unique and significant historical drawings. The murals cover an area of 2100 square metres and depict the temptation of the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon. Duration: 3 hours Stop At: Kandy View Point, Kandy, Kandy District, Central Province Afterwardsyou will be heading to Kandy, is the capital of the last Sinhalese Kingdom. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and bio diverse rainforest. The city has beautiful centrepiece Lake, which is popular for strolling around. Kandy also famed for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The main attractions in Kandy: Temple of the Tooth, Royal Botanical Garden, Bahirawakanda view point, Cultural show. Day 9: Nuwara Eliya Stop At: Victoria Park of Nuwara Eliya, Nuwara Eliya, Central Province After early breakfast proceed to Sri Lankan Tea region of Nuwara Eliya. On the way you can visit a tea factory and enjoy a fresh cup of Ceylon tea. Nuwara Eliya is often referred as “Little England’ because many of the buildings in this city retain from the British colonial period, such as the Queen's Cottage, General's House, Grand Hotel, Hill Club and Town Post Office. Also, this place is characterised by a cool climate all year long.
