Later, in the reign of King Kirti Sri Rajasingha from 1747 to 1780 this was made a Royal Garden and from 1780 – 1798 King Rajadhi Rajasinghr resided therein. This garden is one of the best in the world with its variety of plants. The history of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Sri Lanka begins in the fourth century A.D. According to traditional history, it was during the reign of Kirti Sri Meghavanna. The Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha was brought to Sri Lanka from Kalinga in India (301-328 AD). A Temple for the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy was first built by King Vimaladharmasuriya I, when he ascended the throne of the Kandyan Kingdom in 1592 AD.Afterwards, you will be dropped off at the hotel you were picked up from confirming the end of the tour.Duration: 3 hours
