Start your tour in Santa Cruz, fawning over the classical works in the Museo de Bellas Artes, before admiring the outdoor charms of the Parque García Sanabria. Size up the astonishing contemporary architecture of the Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA), the island's breathtaking modern art gallery, and then head off to learn about life many moons ago at the Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre. Finish your day with a stroll to the Auditorio de Tenerife or the nearby Palmetum.
On day two, explore the gracious streets of pretty Garachico, on the island’s northwest coast, in the morning, before driving west towards wild Punta de Teno at the very northwest tip of Tenerife. Hold onto the edge of your seat on the drive to spectacular Masca and then drop down to the seaside for some bucket-and-spade fun at Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago.
On the third day, poke your head high above the clouds in the stunning Parque Nacional del Teide. The fit and fearless can make an all-day hiking assault on the summit (advance bookings are needed); the fearless but not so fit can take it easy in the cable-car ride to just below the peak. Everyone can enjoy the easy but terrific walk around the Roques de García.
