Welcome to Ses Salines Area
The far southeastern tip of Ibiza offers some seriously stunning landscapes, which give way to two of the island's very best silky-sand beaches. Most of this region is taken up with a dazzling expanse of colour-shifting salt pans – the island's major source of wealth for millennia. To the salt pans' east and south are the back-to-back, bleach-blonde beaches of Platja de Ses Salines and (gay-friendly) Es Cavallet, home to some beautiful seaside bar-restaurants and a 16th-century defence tower. This entire region is now part of the protected 168-sq-km Parc Natural de Ses Salines, which folds across to Formentera.
