Pamplona is filled with good restaurants and bars, many serving Basque cuisine and pintxos, others serving traditional Navarran dishes.

Café Iruña

One of Hemingway's requisite watering holes was Café Iruña, perfectly positioned in the historic centre. Opened on the eve of Sanfermines in 1888, Café Iruña's dominant position, powerful sense of history and frilly belle époque decor make this by far the most famous and popular gathering spot in the city. In addition to a long list of wine and spirits, it also has a good range of pintxos and light meals.
