Ferrocarril de Sóller

Train in Palma de Mallorca

This delightful, scenic narrow-gauge railway has connected Palma and the northwestern town of Sóller, via Bunyola, since 1912. With beautifully maintained rolling stock, an exceptionally scenic route, and engineering marvels including a 3km-long tunnel that took early-20th-century navvies four arduous years to bore through the Serra de Alfàbia range, it's one of Mallorca's classic excursions. The trip's about 1¼ hours.

A ticket combining the return journey and a jaunt on Sóller's historic tram is €30.
