Manacor, Mallorca's second-largest city, is perhaps best known as the birthplace of tennis great Rafael Nadal and as a centre of furniture manufacturing. There are definitely more compelling attractions to be found elsewhere, but don't discount this place entirely: it does have a striking church at its centre, and there’s some fine shopping to be had on its outskirts – from wineries to Mallorca’s world-famous pearls.
