Bike2Malaga For sturdier bikes to get you out into the mountainous white villages, these guys have the necessary means. Check the website for some good recommended bike routes.
There are several well-signposted underground car parks in town. The most convenient are on Avenida de Andalucía, Plaza de la Marina and Plaza de la Merced.
Metro Málaga (www.metromalaga.es) opened in 2014 with two lines heading out to the western suburbs, which formerly suffered from serious traffic congestion. It's currently more useful to commuters than to visitors, although there are plans to extend it. The two lines converge at El Perchel next to the main train and bus stations. Tickets cost €1.35.
Taxi fares are typically around €6 per 2km to 3km. Fares within the city centre, including to the train and bus stations and Castillo de Gibralfaro, are around €8.
Renfe cercanías trains (www.renfe.com) run from central Málaga to Fuengirola (€3.60), via the train station (€1.80), airport (€1.80) and Torremolinos (€2.05). They run every 20 minutes from 5.30am to 11.30pm.
