The Sendero del Aguadero (PRA37) is a lovely path up through woodlands of alder, pine and chestnut. The whole trail is a circular route of 14km (about five hours), climbing and descending more than 600m, but you can double back whenever you like. Look out for wild boar and hoopoes (black-and-white birds with elaborate orange crests).

The path starts around 1km from El Nacimiento waterfalls.
