Haro Wine Fight - Batalla del Vino

Day 1 - 28th of JuneCheck into camp, tour briefing, welcome BBQ and partyOwn arrangements to Haro. Check into PP Travel's base at the campsite which is about a 20 minute walk from where the Haro bus station is located about 15 minutes from the Haro train station. Upon check in our experienced staff will go over the tour details with you and explain what is to happen over the next couple of days. You'll be given a full run down on what to expect at the wine fight and this evenings pre-party so you can get the most out of this amazing event and get right into the heart of the action the following day.At 5pm this evening the BBQ will fire up to kick off the welcome party (sangria/beer included). We'll have some groovy tunes playing and it'll be a great opportunity to meet other passengers and make new friends.After the welcome BBQ at around 8pm we'll head into the old town of Haro for the massive pre-party that goes all night in the town square. There is live music, bars, thousands of people and a magnificent atmosphere.Day 2 - 29th of JuneBatalla Del Vino - Haro Wine Fight - Brunch and Haro after partyAfter catching a few hours sleep - or perhaps none as the Haro street party runs all night - virtually the entire population of Haro at dawn makes the short trek to the fight venue, a local park/scenic lookout at a nearby mountain range. Free local bus shuttles run from besides our campground to fight venue, approximately 5km from town. Then the fun begins.The 29th is the day of the patron saint San Pedro - a massive day for the townsfolk of Haro. It officially kicks off with a procession led by the town's mayor, on horseback, to the Cliffs of Bilibio, where a mass is celebrated followed by the crazy morning wine free-for-all. Hundreds of thousands of litres of wine are brought in from local vineyards. It's complete carnage as the entire crowd attempts to cover each other in wine using their hands, water pistols, buckets, balloons and basically any vessel they can find. Wine soaked bands continue playing lively Spanish music as the fun-filled crowd continues to soak each other. The atmosphere is electric.Late morning most drift back to town (free shuttle buses operate) to either continue the celebrations at the Plaza de la Paz or have a much-needed siesta.Back at the campground we offer a hot brunch. Then have a much-needed shower, enjoy a swim and perhaps a well-earned afternoon rest before heading back into town for another night of street partying.Day 3 - 30th of JuneDeparture dayCheck out of your tent by 11am, say goodbye to new friends and we hope to see you again soon (perhaps at San Fermin in Pamplona).Flights to Bilbao, Zaragoza, Pamplona or San Sebastian. The best location to fly to with the quickest transfer (bus and train) to Haro is Bilbao.

Harvest Experience in Rioja Wine Region

Starting point in Haro or Labastida. If required meet the guide at your accommodation, in Vitoria, Logroño, Bilbao and area (selected option). Spain Wine Fight Overnight Camping Package Including Breakfast and Dinner

27 JuneIf you select the 3 night package you'll arrive on the 27 June. Check in opens from 2pm, if you arrive earlier no worries, there will be a beer waiting for you! There'll be an opening party this evening with an included dinner at the campsite. 28 JuneWake up to a hot breakfast served from 8 - 10am and then the day is your oyster. Explore the town of Haro just a short walk away or stay at the campsite and chill by the pool. This afternoon there'll be a cheese and wine day where you can sample the flavours of local bodegas and cheesemakers at the Stoke campsite! That evening there'll be a BBQ dinner (don't worry we can cater for dietary requirements) before the big Haro street party kicks off. 29 JuneEarly morning breakfast will be served to prep you for the wine fight. Around 7am we'll catch the bus to the hills to partake in the enormous wine fight. Make your way back to the campsite where'll you can chill out, shower and hang out at the afternoon pool party! That evening if you still have energy there'll be one final campsite party!30 JuneBreakfast is included before you check out at 11am and say goodbye to all your new stoke besties!
