Tracking between the Mirador de Jinama at 1230m and the town of La Frontera, 800m below, this challenging but well-marked 4.4km old donkey trail was originally used for accessing El Golfo. Heading uphill, the route starts opposite La Frontera's Plaza de la Candelaria, then zigzags to the top of the ridge. Allow around 2½ hours to climb up, or two hours downhill.
From the Mirador, the path continues 4.7km through pastoral fields to San Andrés. The whole route is part of the longer PREH8.
