Lanzarote in detail

Travel with Children

There’s plenty going on for kids on the island and accommodation here is very family-friendly. Some restaurants and attractions have baby-change facilities (but don't count on it) and pavements are generally in decent enough condition for prams. The seafront promenade along the south-central coast between Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen is perfect for gentle walks.

The main resorts of Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen have plenty of family-geared activities, from glass-bottom boats to snorkelling to banana-boat rides to submarine safaris. Teguise's Museo de la Piratería is a great spot for children, and several of the Manrique sights will fascinate kids just as much as their parents. Older kids will enjoy Lanzarote's excellent surfing, kitesurfing, SUP and diving scenes, and adventures across to Isla Graciosa are great for the whole family. Last but not least, all kids will love the eerie moonscapes of the Parque Nacional de Timanfaya.
